Winter Wonderland!

This year Charity decided that we should gather as many of our family members around our big Christmas tree at Baliwood as possible! Since she is single and we usually visit one of our families at Christmas in their own locations since it is so hard to move kids at Christmas, this was quite a feat for parents and quite a treat for us. Though many couldn’t come and we missed them dearly we loved having five of our nine kids at some point over the holidays.

They came from New York, San Diego, Phoenix, Palo Alto and Ogden!  What fun we had in our winter wonderland. We had twenty for three days and then were down to thirteen for another five days. The cousins who hadn’t seen each other since July loved re-bonding and the snow made a perfect winter wonderland. Thanks to Jonah and Aja who gathered winter gear for kids at the DI for many years, we had plenty of warm clothes to outfit everyone from warm weather climes!

The boys, big and small got excited about building a snow fort on our back deck with the patio furniture for an infrastructure. They had a ball building it!

Ready….to sleep in! Jared, Isaac and Silas actually slept in there. Crazy! Isaac did get cold in the night and went in and Jared couldn’t feel is feet when he woke up and probably feared amputation but didn’t mention it. Silas finished without a complaint. This thing represents a LOT of hours of work by all the dads and the boys! Quite a project!
