Home Again, Gone Again, Jiggety Jig!

We arrived back in Utah just in time to vote!  We were so disappointed for Mitt and Ann who are good friends and who gave their heart and soul to this campaign.  However it is what it is and we are praying for President Obama’s success in the next four years. He’s going to need all the help he can get. Our nation is in deep trouble!

The day after we had a fun gathering at the Social Room at City Creek for our annual Book Club Couple’s dinner which we enjoyed even though we were all fans of Mitt and Ann. We heard some inside stories of those who knew Mitt best and we felt better, even though our man lost the election. Our hat is off to anyone who enters that crazy dog-eat-dog ring of fire!

Pretty sunset anyway!

The next day we were off to CA for a speech in Orange County at a private school. What a delightful group of parents showed up! One guy and his wife said they had heard us five times. What a glutton for punishment! He was a terrific addition to the conversation about entitlement  because he had actually tried some of the things we suggested. It’s always great to have someone in the audience who has actually made family systems work!

Of course the most important part of being there was that we were only a hour and a half from that cute Noah and Kristi family!  We haven’t seen them since they left the lake in August so it was a joyous reunion! Those kids are such a kick! Here are a few scenes from the raucous time we had with them!

McKay just got another idea while the other kids were attacking Grandfather. It was to hide under our bed in the morning and squeak like a squirrel/monster so he could scare us to death!

And here he is, teaching Bennett how to use the hoola hoop because he is a champion hoola hooper!

Cubby has become such a talker! His words come out in really complex thoughts for a two year old. Lots going on in that little brain!

Lyla is always one hundred percent engaging!  This girl is no shrinking violet!

And of course Grandfather and I fell in love again with his little namesake Bennett Richard Eyre!

What an adorable gaggle of kids who love reading books….and their grandfather!

On our last night there, Tal, Noah and Eli showed up from their weekend diving trip. Forgot to take pictures but we relished every minute we had to see their photos and videos of the trip, catch up on their lives and to talk about politics and future plans!  What a bonus!

The next morning we made pumpkin waffles and packed two cars with bodies going to church. From there Dad and I took Tal and Eli to the San Diego airport to fly home to NYC and DC and then we headed back to have a scrumptious lunch of fish tacos with Noah and Kristi before taking off for the Los Angeles airport for our next adventure:  DUBAI!  Tune in for details soon.
