Wow, what a season we have had since we finally landed at home. It’s started with a quick trip to the lake…still and beautiful in the bleak mid-winter:
Then we started attending Christmas Concerts to make up for all those years we didn’t have time to see any concerts outside of our own children’s concerts from elementary to high school!
We spent a stunning evening in the home of genius Lex de Azevedo who, along with his friends provided us with gorgeous Christmas music!
Dad/ Rick gave a beautiful talk on the Savior and left his book, What Manner of Man as a gift for everyone.
Since Dad/Rick was out of town, my sister Lenna and I went to the Kurt Bestor Concert featuring Jenny Oaks. Fabulous!
We also got to see A Christmas Carol, The Musical, at Pioneer Memorial Theatre.
AND the best ever Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert. It will soon be online. You HAVE to see it. Alfie Boe was breathtaking as he sang Bring Him Home. And Tom Brokaw story about The Candy Bomber was unforgettable.
We don’t have to worry about not having snow this year. It’s gorgeous!
We even saw this mangy moose traveling across our yard at dusk a couple of days ago. Then last night she brought her sister and they walked right past us as we were delivering Chirstmas gifts for our neighbors on a crunchy cold night. Dad/Rick was scared!!!
(Christmas tree lights reflected on the window)
Any body want to lay out on our lounge chair on this billowy pillow snow?
Our Wellesley lamp light falls on the new-fallen snow:
And our Christmas tree’s lit and all ready to go!
The nativity scene reminds us what’s real and for a moment makes our frenzied minds still.
Wow, I didn’t mean to make that rhyme. It just popped out!
And to make the season perfect, the Loosli Family Children for Children Concert was another spectacular success. With Ashton conducting, parents and children loved performing for a great cause….children in orphanages in Bulgaria. The perfect reason for the season!
And now our own children are starting to appear. Five out of nine will all be here just after midnight tonight! Since we have been going to their houses for the past several years, this will be a year to remember!
PLUS our newest grandchild is supposed to appear on December 26th in Washington D.C. Eli’s wife Julie’s mom is in Brazil so I get to be there to welcome their first little soul straight from heaven. What a year! Pure treasure!
