Exit to a Wedding

Our days together were cut a few days short this year for a very good cause!  Our niece, Rick’s brother’s daughter was being married in Salt Lake City.

Many couldn’t stay but those who were able to were treated to a  peek into the lives of this stellar young couple called Rennie (Serenity) and Scott. This beautiful bride started doing a paper route with her dad when she was about 8 and went all the way through high school getting up at 4:30 a.m. even while taking AP classes. She graduated from the University of Utah in Violin Performance and is stellar violinist. Her cute husband plays jazz trumpet and they look to be off to a wonderful life together. After a short honeymoon they spent the rest of the summer in the mountains with a group of young people who needed some serious rehabilitation. They are amazing!

One of the most precious memories for all of us was having our Grandma Ruthie with us. She is ninety one and has no idea who any of us are but she can feel the love so strongly. The only thing she could respond to was when Rennie got down on eye level of her wheelchair and said, “I love you Grandma. I’m so glad you came,”  Grandma went from looking like a deer in the headlights to a sudden recognition of an important moment and gently replied in her ever-soft voice , “I love you too and I’m so glad I’m here.”

I let all the “big” cameras do all the good photos. The cute couple was far away in this first blurry picture. But the following shots are the best I could get! Parents, brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins (whom we hadn’t seen in a long time along) and Rennie’s little nieces and nephews all rejoiced with the happy couple!
