The End of Temple Lights and the Beginning of a New Year

The holiday season is always so festive but nothing brings the spirit of Christmas quite like the  lights on Temple Square. The combination of what must be at least a million lights and music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir playing on the square is always an inspiration. Whether you view the sight from above or from “down inside”, it is simply spectacular.

On a very cold night Charity ran (literally) with me through the square to keep warm and stay inspired.

Then last night at midnight, they concluded the three-day festivities of EVE, the new year’s celebrations of downtown SLC with some spectacular fireworks! We were excited to watch them from the top of a nearby building….

And at 1 a.m, the Temple lights were extinquished in an instant…. for another year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
