We spent a fun week at home with two of our great Eyre men Tal and Eli who came from Manhattan with two very interesting people who work with a large number of the public schools in New York City. They came for an Imagine Learning Conference in Provo and to take in a little of Park City and the Sundance Film Festival. We had such a fun lunch at our Park City house. Tal and Eli were the perfect hosts for four days and it was so splendid to see them in action! They are having a ball working with each other in the Big Apple.
Our last dinner with them (along with another woman from Rochester NY whose plane had been cancelled) before they headed for the airport for a red-eye was at The Roof where we enjoyed a spectacular view of the the Salt Lake Temple and relished our stimulating conversation immensely!
Then it was off to a five-country tour of Central America which will be showing up in the next two weeks on this blog. We started in Guatemala where we spoke twelve years ago (seems like about 4 years to us). At that time the event was in Antigua but this time we stayed in Guatemala City where we enjoyed meeting a fascinating group of stellar parents who are working on being better.
We stayed at a beautiful hotel with horrible Internet service but oh well….first world problems. This was the view from our room:
The event was at a gorgeous home with a pretty nice front door!
Not many patios can seat 60 people for lunch but this place handled it easily. As always,we learned more than we taught! Our host’s wife was expecting baby #4 at any moment but she somehow managed to have her restaurant cater the event.
Very interesting driveway too:
And we’re on to Costa Rica!
