Our hosts here in Costa Rica treated us to a lovely lunch at a Peruvian Fusion place that was” to die for.”
Coconut curry with a spicy Peruvian twist. Mmmmm. I want to go back!
The restaurant was part of an upscale outdoor mall. I thought these two stores were pretty fun side by side. Wish I’d taken a closer picture of the cute “lego man” sitting on the bench.
Here’s a closer look at that fun sculpture!
We spent the evening with a particularly terrific group of parents where we learned all about the scary elections that are about to occur on Sunday. A 38 year old well-spoken young man who has no concept of “the big picture” of Costa Rica’s history is one of the leading candidates and would like to recreate communism in the country. Because of the current dislike of the ruling party, many are horrified that he might win!
The next morning we rented a car and headed for two days of fun in the hinterland of spectacular Costa Rica. We began our journey through town after town “when what to our wondering eyes should appear?” Moroni!
It was a great way to start our fun journey…coming next.

My daughter was just called to the San Jose Costa Rica mission!! I read and reread all your parenting books as a younger Mom. My oldest is 25 and the youngest is 9 with a bunch in between! Your parenting wisdom was a real gift back when they were all younger. Thanks so much!!
