It was worth 45 years of cooking, cleaning, colic, coughing and chaos just to be able to be surrounded by all our children and their spouses celebrating all those action-packed years together with the ocean lapping at the shore and surrounded by beautiful Balinese decorations. Surreal! (See Richard waaay down there at the other end?)
After a wonderful meal everyone delighted us with their contribution to 45 memories and things they have appreciated about us through the years and a rousing rendition with new lyrics to a family song that our kids had sung together from the time they were small. (Thanks for the photos Saren! I was so enamored with what was happening that I entirely forgot to take pictures)!
The staff at the villa had been preparing all day for a traditional Balinese feast. It included this roast pig which had been on the spit all day. Poor little guy! But how we enjoyed that rare opportunity to enjoy a beautiful meal and celebrate together! As mentioned in the last post, the actual date isn’t until this summer but knowing this would be our last chance to be together before then we luxurated together.
These creative decorations had been hand made by the staff.
It was a night we’ll never forget!
The next morning was our last at the Villa and we enjoyed our last lovely breakfast together and took pictures of our joy of being together!
The staff had been so kind and were attentive to every need!
Thanks to Eli who found this extraordinary place online, we had enjoyed every moment in this heavenly place!
We enjoyed the gorgeous pool for the last time and soaked in as much as possible before we had to depart.
This little guy was the star of the show and was a solid brick of gold when it came to being passed from arms to arms and trekking somewhere new every day. How we love this little Ezra!
And how he loves his Daddy!
A massive number of pictures were taken with the big whiz-bang cameras that our major photographers captured but I didn’t get any on my phone. I’m waiting for the formal ones, but these out-takes are pretty fun too.
With four professional photographers going at it, this one below made us laugh out loud because every single person in the picture looks totally confused! That is because it’s take number 137!
A fond farewell to a place we’ll never forget.
So hard to leave this piece of paradise but we were on to the next adventure.
