The main “village” of Bali is Ubud, an artist’s community with Lots of amazing art, restaurants, fish tanks that will nibble all the dead skin off your feet, endless shops and incredible dance performances. There is nothing quite like a Balinese Dance complete with a gamelan orchestra. More about that later.
We moved to a truly unique Balinese Hotel right in the middle of Ubud adjacent to the Monkey Forest bursting with not only friendly but also sometimes completely obnoxious monkeys who will gladly groom your hair and steal your food if you happen to have any in your bag.
The change was fun and immersed us in the beautiful culture of Bali! It rained on the day of our arrival but it was beautiful!
Beautiful flowers were placed in all ten bedrooms.
And exotic fruit bowls:
With gorgeous hand-carved doors to every room:
Entrance to Charity’s room:
And stone monkeys to go along with the real ones!
Another stone monkey to go along with a real one:
Beautiful bedrooms
And outdoor bathrooms:
Smack in the middle of a jungle. The view out our windows:
We enjoyed a lovely Balinese breakfast every morning on this patio:
Very pregnant Kristi was absolutely amazing every single day!
And this cute little guy as good as gold attached to his mom who is platinum!
An astounding place called Alum Indah. So Balinese and so comparatively inexpensive! Never to be forgotten.
